The activity center at Yanpu township, Pingtung drew the pictures dozens of old people surrounding the round table, waiting for the calisthenics in due course; besides, their murmuring sounded like a broken record going that”young people going out for jobs, here only left the aged.”Another side of the township coming with the blossom of Butterfly Ginger, a breeze was blowing with an intoxicating floral fragrance, seeming to be and not to be, just like those elderly had been left in the neighborhood as the time passed by.
According to the investigation from the Department of Statistics in Ministry of the Interior, Taiwan has been transformed into an“Aging Society.”The first priority for the elderly is the issue of health, house and economic. Mechanics and Xingren (to practice love) regarding as the foundation of education concept for Tajen University are to cultivate qualified personnel as well as to serve the society in view of people oriented by means of University Social Responsibility Project supported by Ministry of Education. Our department of Pharmacy and Food Technology provides food safety and food nutrition; Bachelor Degree Program of Fire Safety provides home- and community-based fire safety services such asel emergency escape, initial fire fighting by home extinguisher, home and community fire inspection, etc. ; besides, Department of Environment and Occupational Safety and Health serves Recycling of Agricultural Renewable Resources and Community Sustainable Development, whose three projects execute separately community food safety net, cultivation ability on community fire safety, in addition to management talent cultivation on local A.I. agriculture besides the research and application on the innovative technology.
Students majoring at pharmacy and food technology assist the elderly with nutrition investment, pharmaceutical care and local ingredients R & D promotion. Moreover, those majoring at Bachelor Degree Program of Fire Safety provide long-term care for public safety, disaster prevention and evacuation and Home Fire Safety maintenance; again, those from Department of Environment and Occupational Safety and Health give guidances in the agricultural technology, A. I. Management and Control apart from the care for Human Occupational Injury; moreover, from academic to public, combinations of taking the courses and participating in the services not only give back to society but also strengthen self’s professional abilities; what’s more important is to keep well taking University Social Responsibility so as to make the elderly live happily.
Based on the report results from (109) annual plans, there are 174 valid questionnaires in one part of subproject whose recovery rate is 100%. The pass rate for whole public recognition on pharmacy care is 72.76 ± 20.06 % whose highest recognition relies on the participant with high educational degrees. Besides, checking the name of patients and drugs, directions, dosages, approaches, and so on before taking the medicine, the highest recognition rate reaches 91.95%; however, the lowest awareness with reference to the legal ingredient of Chinese and western medicine declines 39.08%, which takes more advocacy for the concerned department to provide a guidance of health education. On top of that, our school researches an information referral system for the medication safety on the elderly, offering the service and information about Drug names and precautions for medication to the community pharmacy stores, the Long-term Care Institution, and residents, including inappropriate medications, side effects, and dosage forms. With the assistance of medication safety, on the other hand, the analysis result on the investigation for elderly nutrition has been done by means of those researches on elderly health and dietary nutrition from people living at Xin’er Village, Zhenxing Village, and Shing-Wei Village. Connecting the academic courses and the caring bases with the program of nutrition and health education in addition to assisting Yanpu township with the local agricultural products activities are required to execute the special meal with local characteristics in one-day rural experience activities. We’d like to present two kinds of special agricultural products such as shrimp stick and fruit tea.
Secondly, holding activities of “Home Fire Safety Advocacy”, there are 193 participants in total; managing “Home Fire Safety Meeting and Home Fire Extinguisher Operation Drill” apart from replacing the expired fire extinguisher for free at “the Community Caring Base” and teaching residents how to correctly use the fire extinguisher is to be completed; furthermore, the“Fire Safety Inspection for the Elderly at the Community” in addition to the installation of the“Housing Smoke/Heat Detection Alarm”are necessary for residents to promote the home fire safety.
Thirdly, take students to the community for water quality and soil inspection at the farm by means of students’ professional knowledge and abilities learned from the courses as well as assist residents and farmers to set up an S. O. P. for the locally sustainable and environmental management besides product monitoring in order to promote the sustainable and agricultural development. Additionally, those questionnaires designed by professors and executed by students for community residents are to provide precisely agricultural knowledge and to show compassion to farmers with a view to improving the agricultural identity and sense of participation aside from solving the coming problem and building the correct concept on agriculture.
On the practice process of the social responsibility from universities, friendly and touching humanistic care and service are shown by students’ coordination, communications, professionalisms, and great concerns for each other, in addition to developing more chemistry and gentleness between people apart from giving full play to the spirit of “Mechanics and Xingren” upheld by Tajen University with an eye to implementing community revitalization.

- The event period for this event is based on Taiwan time, and the delivery of the rewards is restricted to regions including Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu.

- 3rd Prize ~ 4th Prize (Winning prizes with a value less than NT$1,000 (inclusive): Prize winners should reply to the prize-winning notifying letter via Email within 7 days (including holidays) starting from the next day of the announcement of the list of winners, to confirm the collection of the rewards and to fill out the relevant info for sending the rewards (to confirm the address for sending the gift), and to accelerate the follow-up qualification review. If the prize winners do not complete the relevant info before the deadline, they will be deemed to give up the opportunity to collect the rewards, and no alternative gifts or reissuance of gifts will be available.
- When the prize winners have completed filling out the prize-winning info, the organizer will double-check the identification data of the prize winners, the rewards will only be sent out when all data is correct.
- All prize-winning qualification needs to be approved by the organizer before it becomes effective, all reviewing standards are based on the organizer as the only reference.
- If the prize winner did not fill in the data complete and correct, or cannot be in contact, or did not send back the required data within the announced time of the rewards, the prize winner will then be deemed to voluntarily give up the prize, no separate notification will be announced.
- According to the R.O.C Tax Act, if the prize winner is an individual residing in Taiwan, and the prize amount (value) exceeds NT$1,000 (inclusive), then a copy of both sides of the ID card will need to be handed in for taxation, which will be incorporated into individual income for the annual taxation. If the prize winner is not an individual residing in Taiwan, 20% of reward tax must be deducted from the reward first regardless of the prize amount before the prize winner can collect the reward. If the prize winner is not an adult, a household registration transcript must be provided along with a letter of consent from the legal representative. If the prize winner is unwilling to pay the tax first, he/she will be deemed to give up the reward, and no objections will be accepted.
- If the prize winner is in violation of the relevant event measures or has other dissents, the organizer is allowed to retrieve the reward and no objections from the prize winner will be accepted. If a judicial dispute is involved, all legal liabilities will be held by the individual. The organizer will not be liable.
- If it is confirmed that the participant used a hacker program or other method that evidently violates the fairness of the event in an attempt to influence the event, the organizer is then allowed to disqualify the participant immediately or to cancel the prize-winning qualification. Compensation will be liable if a loss is caused for the organizer due to this.
- For reasons that the organizer are not liable for, including a computer, network, telephone, or technique issues resulting in the delay, loss, incorrect, unidentifiable, or damaged data uploaded by the participants, the organizer will not be liable for any legal liability, and no objections from the participants and prize winners will be accepted.
- The organizer reserves the rights to review the qualification of the event participants, if the organizer or a third party has reported that the participants are found to use methods that are intentional or evidently violate the fairness of the event, or do not conform to the rules of this event, the organizer will then be allowed to cancel the prize immediately.
