A strong team providing strong service will in turn cultivate strong citizens of the Earth!
EnvEd Centre for Innovative Learning was founded by a group of partners who care about environmental sustainability and environmental education on a long-term basis. Inspired by the vision of “Our Land Our People” – Innovative Learning, we specialize in course design, itinerary planning, talent cultivation, site management, and consulting, providing environmental education, environmental guided tours, and environmental communication from a holistic perspective that involves the industry, government, and academia. We strive to plan and implement our solutions from a comprehensive, forward-looking standpoint.
We are apt at applying our expertise in environmental education and information conversion to combine different disciplines, public agendas, or scientific researches. Furthermore, we can design diverse service models for different subjects including participatory operation, civic engagement, and learning by doing, thereby providing Earth citizens with experiential learning opportunities and allowing them to obtain first-hand experience in the real world.
EnvEd Centre for Innovative Learning upholds 4 major principles:
EnvEd Centre for Innovative Learning cares about issues such as “environmental learning center”, “mountain natural history”, and “urban natural history.” We have also collaborated with or commissioned government agencies, universities, and private organizations to tackle a wide range of issues for the sake of promoting environmental education on different levels and realizing the ideal of “Our Land Our People” – Innovative Learning.
In terms of the planning and development of the “environmental learning center”, we have managed to revitalize the local community through the Forestry Bureau's “Natural Education Center International Collaboration Project”, as well as promote the philosophy of a national ecological green network through the Pingtung Forest District Office's Professional Services Project for “Promoting Friendly Environment in the Low Elevation Mountain Regions of Kaohsiung.” Additionally, we are also responsible for implementing the Manyueyuan National Forest Recreation Area's “2020 New Tourist Center Professional Service Project”, encompassing aspects including philosophy planning, defining, execution, and operation.
“Mountain natural history” involves personnel training, curriculum development, parent-child learning, and public participation to convey the objectives of sustainable mountain and forest in Taiwan. For instance, the “Learning – Forest” environmental education course designing seed/teacher training workshop cultivates teachers that promote forest environment sustainability, as well as the “2019 Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Summer Series - WooWood Summer Party” and the development and execution of “Fun Summer Vacation in the Forest”, etc. Meanwhile, we have partnered up with several private organizations and enterprises to form the “Sustainable Forestry Promotion Alliance” in a bid to promote forestry sustainability.
“Urban natural history” upholds the philosophy that the learning of sustainable development begins in everyday life, developing courses targeting green spaces in the cities and surrounding areas. For example, our activities including “Urban Hawk Spotting Project”, “Urban Natural History”, “Urban Birds”, and “Plants – Winter Camp” have received wide popularity among the participants, accommodating the travel and learning needs of preschool children to senior citizens.
University Social Responsibility (USR) is an important dimension of university school affairs development, making universities the locomotive driving the sustainability of society from a local and international viewpoint. Building on our first-hand learning experiences, EnvEd Centre for Innovative Learning emphasizes the element of crossing over to endow diverse learning and value-creation with an international perspective, thereby shaping Earth citizens with philosophies that are consistent with the USR's direction.
EnvEd Centre for Innovative Learning has abundant practical experiences in working with schools. These include the summer camp held in conjunction with NUTC's “2019 Ministry of Education USR Implementation Plan – Yizhong Street Sustainable Living Circle”; Taichung Municipal Wen-Hua Senior High School's “Ministry of Education Outdoor Education” long-term accompaniment project; training course for the “Field Studies Council.” These projects have all demonstrated outstanding results and accumulated a wealth of experience.
Consequently, EnvEd Centre for Innovative Learning and universities can guide the students' self-learning by addressing local development needs and real-world problems. At the same time, we are fostering crossover collaborations between teachers to jointly engage in teaching and researching, where the operating model of the environmental learning center is applied to ensure the integrity of the process starting from the core concept to implementation. Furthermore, through participatory learning and civic engagement, as well as themes such as “mountain natural history” and “urban natural history”, students and teachers can engage in public communication with the local community, in turn encouraging people to partake in discussions on regional development issues and establishing their awareness of sustainable Earth citizenship. Moreover, with our experiences in international cooperation, we can lead students and teachers to continue refining their skills on the international scene.
